Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The COTA will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide therapy services to patients in need of rehabilitation. The primary goal of the COTA is to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through personalized therapy plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist occupational therapists in evaluating and treating patients
- Implement therapy programs designed to improve functional abilities
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive devices
- Document patient progress and communicate with healthcare team
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients and their families
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Valid COTA certification and license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques
- Experience working with diverse patient populations
- Compassion and empathy for individuals facing physical or cognitive challenges
