Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitation services to patients. They assist in implementing treatment plans, conducting exercises, and providing hands-on therapy to help patients improve their mobility, reduce pain, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in evaluating patients’ conditions and developing individualized treatment plans.
2. Help patients with exercises, stretches, and other therapeutic activities.
3. Provide hands-on therapy, such as massage and manual techniques, to help improve patients’ mobility and reduce pain.
4. Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
5. Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for exercises and activities.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
7. Assist with equipment setup and maintenance.
8. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
9. Follow all legal and ethical guidelines in the provision of physical therapy services.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
2. State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
6. Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with mobility and exercises.
7. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
8. Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
