Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitation services to individuals with physical, mental, or developmental impairments. Your primary goal will be to help clients regain independence in their daily activities and improve their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for clients
- Conduct therapy sessions with clients, including exercises, activities, and interventions
- Monitor and document clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate clients and their families on how to perform therapeutic exercises and activities at home
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to coordinate client care
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment
- Stay current on occupational therapy techniques and best practices
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- State licensure or certification as a COTA
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work well in a team environment
