Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work with individuals who have physical, mental, or developmental challenges to help them develop or regain the skills needed to live independently and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Evaluate patients' physical, mental, and emotional abilities to develop individualized treatment plans.
2. Help patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
3. Assist patients in using adaptive equipment to increase independence and participation in meaningful activities.
4. Provide therapeutic exercises to improve strength, coordination, and range of motion.
5. Teach patients new skills and techniques to enhance their ability to perform daily tasks.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and speech therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
7. Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
8. Educate patients and their families on how to continue therapy exercises at home.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
2. Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
6. Experience working with diverse populations and age groups.
7. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines related to occupational therapy practice.
