Job Title: Speech Therapist
Job Summary:
A Speech Therapist, also known as a Speech-Language Pathologist, is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with communication disorders and speech impairments. They work with patients of all ages to improve their language, speech, and swallowing abilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting assessments to determine the nature and extent of communication disorders
- Developing individualized treatment plans to address speech and language goals
- Working with patients to improve articulation, fluency, voice quality, and language skills
- Providing education and training to patients and their families on communication strategies
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Keeping detailed records of patient progress and treatment outcomes
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- State licensure and certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience working with diverse populations and age groups
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech therapy
