Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Job Summary:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with patients to help them develop, recover, improve, and maintain the skills necessary for daily living and working. You will collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to create individualized treatment plans that address physical, mental, and cognitive challenges.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform initial assessments to determine patients' needs and goals
- Develop treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs
- Implement therapeutic activities to improve physical and cognitive functioning
- Provide training in activities of daily living, such as dressing, cooking, and bathing
- Recommend adaptive equipment to enhance independence and safety
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and caregivers on injury prevention and self-care techniques
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- State licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with patients in a healthcare setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Compassion and empathy for patients dealing with physical and mental challenges
