Job title: Occupational Therapist
Job Summary:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with individuals who are recovering from injuries or illnesses to help them regain daily living and work skills. You will assess the patient's physical, mental, and emotional well-being and create customized treatment plans to promote independence and improve quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Evaluate patients' abilities and needs through observation, interviews, and assessments
- Develop treatment plans that address physical, cognitive, and emotional deficits
- Provide therapy to improve fine motor skills, coordination, and balance
- Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive devices
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and monitor progress
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on how to continue therapy exercises at home
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- State licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassion and empathy for patients facing physical and mental challenges
- Knowledge of medical terminology and treatment methods
