Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT)
Job Summary:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing patients with breathing disorders and providing treatment to improve their respiratory health. You will work closely with physicians to develop treatment plans, administer medications, and operate specialized equipment to assist patients with breathing difficulties. You will play a critical role in helping patients manage chronic respiratory conditions and recover from acute illnesses.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct assessments of patients with breathing disorders
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
- Administer medications and therapy treatments to improve respiratory function
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients on how to manage their respiratory conditions
- Operate and maintain ventilators, oxygen therapy equipment, and other respiratory devices
- Participate in emergency response teams for patients in respiratory distress
- Document patient care activities in medical records according to regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- CRT or RRT certification
- Valid state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment and procedures
- Basic computer skills for documenting patient care activities
