Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide therapeutic interventions to clients in need of occupational therapy services. Your primary goal will be to help individuals improve their physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being so they can engage in meaningful daily activities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop treatment plans and goals for clients
- Assist clients with therapeutic exercises, activities, and techniques to improve motor skills, coordination, and independence
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients facing physical or mental health challenges
- Document client progress, changes, and responses to therapy interventions
- Communicate regularly with therapists, healthcare providers, and caregivers to ensure coordinated care for clients
- Stay current on best practices, emerging trends, and advancements in the field of occupational therapy
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- State licensure or certification to practice as a COTA
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
