Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients recover from injuries, surgeries, and illnesses. They assist in executing treatment plans, teaching patients exercises, and monitoring progress towards physical therapy goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist physical therapist in implementing treatment plans for patients.
2. Instruct patients in proper exercise techniques and ensure they are performing exercises correctly.
3. Help patients with stretching, strength training, and mobility exercises.
4. Monitor patients' progress and report any changes to the physical therapist.
5. Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout the therapy process.
6. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
7. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized therapy environment.
8. Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices in physical therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current certification or licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work well in a team environment.
5. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
6. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
7. Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with exercises and transfers.
8. Compassion and empathy for patients going through rehabilitation.
