Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team. As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help individuals of all ages regain and enhance their daily living skills. Your role will be crucial in providing therapeutic interventions to improve clients' quality of life and independence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in implementing occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by licensed therapists
- Work with clients to improve fine motor skills, strength, coordination, and mobility
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to help clients achieve their goals
- Document client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clients
- Provide education and support to clients and their families to promote independence and self-care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associates degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Certification as a COTA by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Compassion and empathy for individuals with physical or developmental challenges
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred
