Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitative services to patients with physical, emotional, or developmental impairments. Your primary goal will be to help clients regain independence and improve their quality of life through various therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist occupational therapists with evaluating patients' conditions and developing treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' motor skills, coordination, and functional abilities
- Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on how to perform exercises and activities at home
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and physicians, to provide comprehensive care to patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Empathy and patience when working with patients
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and equipment
