Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist to help individuals regain independence and improve daily living skills. You will work with patients in various settings, such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, and nursing homes, to create and implement personalized treatment plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist Occupational Therapists in evaluating patients' abilities and developing treatment plans.
2. Help patients with exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and coordination.
3. Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
4. Document patient progress and update treatment plans accordingly.
5. Communicate with patients' families and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
6. Follow all legal and ethical guidelines in the field of occupational therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
3. State licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
