Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain movement and manage pain. This role will involve assisting with exercises, providing hands-on therapy, and monitoring patients' progress.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist physical therapist with treatment plans and exercises.
2. Help patients perform therapeutic exercises and stretches.
3. Administer modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.
4. Educate patients on proper home exercise programs.
5. Document and track patients' progress in therapy sessions.
6. Assist with patient transfers and mobility needs.
7. Maintain a clean and organized treatment area.
8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
5. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
6. Experience working with patients in a healthcare setting.
7. CPR certification.
8. Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
9. Attention to detail and organization skills.
