Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the direction of an occupational therapist to help patients with physical, mental, or developmental disabilities regain or improve their ability to perform daily tasks and activities. Your goal will be to assist patients in achieving independence and improving their quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement treatment plans for patients
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities with patients to improve functional abilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as dressing, eating, and grooming
- Educate patients and their families on strategies for managing disabilities and promoting independence
- Document patient progress and communicate with healthcare team members as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
- Must hold a current COTA certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with patients with various disabilities or conditions is preferred
