Job Summary:
An Occupational Therapist works with individuals who have physical, mental, or developmental impairments to help them improve their ability to perform daily tasks and lead independent lives. They focus on developing strategies to help clients succeed in work, school, and daily living activities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate the client's needs and abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans to help clients achieve their goals
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning
- Teach clients strategies to improve their independence in daily activities
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Document client progress and communicate effectively with clients and their families
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- State licensure as a registered Occupational Therapist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions
- Experience working with diverse populations
