Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain movement and manage pain. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping others improve their physical well-being.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in the implementation of physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the physical therapist.
2. Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
3. Educate patients on exercises and techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain.
4. Set up equipment and prepare treatment areas for therapy sessions.
5. Provide support to patients during therapy sessions, including helping them with exercises and stretches.
6. Maintain a clean and organized therapy area.
7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
8. Attend training sessions and workshops to stay current on new developments in physical therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current certification or licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
6. Compassionate and understanding attitude towards patients.
7. Ability to lift and move patients safely.
8. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
9. CPR certification.
10. Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.
