Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitative services to individuals with physical, mental, developmental, or emotional disabilities. You will help clients improve their ability to perform daily activities and regain independence by implementing individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in evaluating clients' functional abilities and limitations
2. Implement occupational therapy interventions as directed by the therapist
3. Monitor and document clients' progress
4. Educate and train clients in therapeutic activities and exercises
5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
7. Adhere to professional and ethical standards in all interactions
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
2. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
3. State licensure or registration as required by law
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
6. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
7. Experience working with diverse populations is preferred
