Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work alongside occupational therapists to help individuals improve their ability to perform daily activities and overcome challenges related to physical, mental, developmental, or emotional disabilities. Your role will involve implementing therapeutic programs, assisting with assessments, and providing support to clients as they work towards achieving their occupational goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Assist clients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination
- Provide guidance and support to clients as they practice independent living skills
- Monitor and document clients' progress throughout the course of treatment
- Communicate regularly with occupational therapists, healthcare professionals, and clients' families to ensure a coordinated approach to care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Active certification as a COTA
- State licensure and registration to practice as a COTA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and ability to follow treatment plans accurately
