Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
A Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients regain movement and manage pain. They assist in developing treatment plans, leading exercise programs, and informing patients on proper techniques for rehabilitation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist patients with exercises and stretches as directed by the Physical Therapist.
2. Monitor patients during therapy sessions and report progress to the Physical Therapist.
3. Set up and maintain therapy equipment.
4. Educate patients on proper techniques and exercises to perform at home.
5. Support the Physical Therapist in evaluating and adjusting treatment plans.
6. Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
7. Maintain a clean and organized therapy area.
8. Communicate effectively with patients and their families.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
5. Knowledge of anatomy and basic medical terminology.
6. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients.
7. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
8. Empathy and compassion for patients.
