Job title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
A Respiratory Therapist is responsible for treating patients with breathing disorders and cardiopulmonary diseases. They work closely with physicians to develop treatment plans and provide ongoing care to patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and evaluate patients with breathing difficulties
2. Perform diagnostic tests to determine the extent of respiratory issues
3. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
4. Administer medications and breathing treatments
5. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
6. Educate patients on proper breathing techniques and medication use
7. Work with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
8. Document patient progress and treatment outcomes
9. Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate care as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
2. Valid state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
3. Certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work well under pressure and in high-stress environments
6. Attention to detail and ability to multitask
7. Knowledge of pulmonary function tests and other diagnostic procedures
8. CPR certification
9. Experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred
