Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team of healthcare professionals. The primary role of the Physical Therapy Assistant is to work directly with patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help them recover from injuries and improve their overall physical well-being.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients
- Monitor and track patient progress during therapy sessions
- Instruct and demonstrate therapeutic exercises and activities to patients
- Provide hands-on assistance during therapy sessions
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Educate patients and their families on at-home exercises and rehabilitation techniques
- Assist with equipment setup and maintenance in therapy areas
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Valid certification or licensure as Physical Therapy Assistant
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Physical stamina and strength to assist with patient transfers and exercises
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology
- Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
