Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitative services to individuals with physical, mental, or emotional impairments. Your role will involve assisting patients in developing or regaining daily living skills, improving mobility, and achieving their occupational therapy goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
2. Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, activities, and functional tasks.
3. Administer and monitor therapeutic interventions as directed by the occupational therapist.
4. Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately and timely.
5. Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs.
6. Maintain a clean and organized therapy workspace.
7. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards set forth by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
3. State licensure as a COTA.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
6. Physical endurance and ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
