Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients recover and improve their physical mobility and well-being. This position plays a crucial role in assisting patients through therapeutic exercises, massages, and other treatments to promote faster recovery and better long-term outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in the implementation of physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist.
2. Help patients perform therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and range of motion.
3. Administer therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.
4. Record and maintain accurate patient progress notes and reports.
5. Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and home exercises.
6. Assist in the setup and maintenance of therapy equipment and treatment areas.
7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and modalities.
- CPR certification.
- Ability to lift and move patients safely.
