Job Summary:
As a Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders in patients. You will work with individuals of all ages to improve their communication skills and overcome difficulties with speech, language, and swallowing.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting evaluations to determine the extent and nature of speech and language disorders
- Developing individualized treatment plans to help patients improve their communication skills
- Providing therapy sessions to individuals or groups to work on speech, language, and swallowing difficulties
- Monitoring and documenting patients' progress throughout the treatment process
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and psychologists, to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Educating patients and their families on techniques and exercises to continue progress outside of therapy sessions
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- State licensure and certification in Speech-Language Pathology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Knowledge of different therapy techniques and strategies for speech and language disorders
- Experience working in clinical settings with diverse populations
