Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities and work towards achieving their therapeutic goals. You will assist in implementing customized treatment plans and provide hands-on therapy to patients of all ages.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement treatment plans
- Assist patients with exercises and activities to improve strength, coordination, and mobility
- Document patient progress and update treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and techniques
- Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure holistic patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- State licensure or certification, as required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Compassionate and patient-focused care approach
- Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and exercise
