Job Description

Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Job Summary:

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to assist patients in developing, recovering, and improving the skills needed for daily living and working. Your responsibilities will include implementing individualized treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and providing support to help patients achieve their therapy goals.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Assist occupational therapists in evaluating patients and developing treatment plans

- Help patients with exercises and activities to improve their motor skills and coordination

- Provide guidance and support to patients as they work towards achieving their therapy goals

- Document patient progress and communicate with therapists to update treatment plans accordingly

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients

- Educate patients and their families on techniques to improve independence and quality of life

Qualifications and Skills:

- Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program

- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

- State licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Compassion and empathy for patients facing physical or cognitive challenges
