Job Description

Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the guidance of a licensed physical therapist to help patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or disabilities. They will assist in implementing treatment plans, provide exercises and stretches, and monitor patient progress.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Assist in carrying out treatment plans as directed by the physical therapist

- Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises and activities

- Monitor and document patient progress

- Perform modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy

- Prepare equipment and treatment areas for therapy sessions

- Educate patients and families on at-home exercises and self-care techniques

Qualifications and Skills:

- Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program

- State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with movement and exercises
