Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide rehabilitation services to patients. They will assist in implementing treatment plans, monitoring progress, and educating patients on exercises and therapeutic techniques.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in conducting physical therapy evaluations and assessments.
2. Implement treatment plans as directed by the physical therapist.
3. Monitor and record patient progress during therapy sessions.
4. Instruct and demonstrate therapeutic exercises and activities to patients.
5. Assist with modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy.
6. Maintain patient records and documentation accurately.
7. Communicate with healthcare team members regarding patient progress.
8. Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on best practices in physical therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Ability to follow treatment plans and instructions accurately.
5. Experience working with patients in a rehabilitation setting is preferred.
6. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
7. Physical stamina and ability to assist patients with mobility.
8. CPR certification.
