Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
A Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of physical therapists to provide rehabilitative services to patients who are recovering from injuries or illnesses. PTAs help patients to improve their mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients
- Provide therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques to improve patients' strength and range of motion
- Monitor and document patients' progress and report any changes to the supervising physical therapist
- Instruct patients and their families on proper techniques for exercises and activities
- Help patients with equipment use and supervise them during rehabilitation sessions
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program
- State licensure or certification as a physical therapy assistant
- CPR certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
