Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide support and assistance to individuals undergoing occupational therapy treatments. Your main goal will be to help clients regain independence and improve their quality of life through targeted therapy interventions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist occupational therapists in evaluating clients' physical and mental capabilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals
- Conduct therapy sessions, including exercises, activities, and techniques to improve clients' skills and abilities
- Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Document clients' progress and communicate with therapists and other healthcare professionals
- Educate clients and their families on exercises and techniques to continue progress outside of therapy sessions
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
- Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- State licensure to practice as a COTA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Compassion and patience when working with clients
