Job title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary: As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help improve their physical health and well-being. Your primary role will be to assist in implementing customized treatment plans and exercises to help patients recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and improve mobility.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in conducting initial patient evaluations and assessments
2. Help develop and implement individualized treatment plans
3. Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities
4. Monitor and record patient progress and responses to treatment
5. Provide education to patients and their families on self-care techniques
6. Assist with therapeutic modalities such as heat and cold therapy, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation
7. Ensure a safe and clean treatment environment for patients
8. Collaborate with the physical therapist to modify treatment plans as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
2. State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
5. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques
6. Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with mobility exercises
7. Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting patient progress
8. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
