Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary: The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help individuals of all ages improve their ability to perform daily tasks and activities despite physical, mental, or developmental challenges.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in developing and implementing occupational therapy treatment plans
- Conduct therapeutic activities and exercises with clients
- Monitor and document progress of clients in therapy sessions
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Educate clients and their families on therapy techniques and strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- State licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or injuries preferred
