Job Title: Interventional Pain Consultants (Pain Therapy)
Job Summary:
Interventional Pain Consultants are responsible for providing advanced pain management therapies to patients suffering from chronic pain conditions. They work closely with patients to diagnose the source of their pain and develop personalized treatment plans to alleviate their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients to determine the underlying cause of their pain.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, which may include medication management, injections, physical therapy, and other interventions.
3. Perform interventional procedures such as nerve blocks, epidural injections, and radiofrequency ablation to target the source of pain.
4. Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal pain control and patient comfort.
5. Educate patients on pain management techniques and self-care strategies to improve their overall well-being.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care for patients.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of patient consultations, treatments, and outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
2. Board certification in Pain Management or related specialty.
3. Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
5. Proficiency in performing interventional pain procedures and interpreting diagnostic imaging studies.
6. Knowledge of current pain management guidelines and best practices.
7. Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
