Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
The Physical Therapy Assistant will work alongside licensed physical therapists to help patients recover from injuries, illnesses, and surgeries. They will assist in implementing treatment plans, providing therapeutic exercises, educating patients on proper techniques, and documenting progress.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist physical therapists in evaluating and treating patients.
2. Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
3. Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities of daily living.
4. Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
5. Assist with patient transfers and positioning during therapy sessions.
6. Maintain a clean and organized therapy area.
7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
8. Attend continuing education courses to stay current on best practices in physical therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. CPR certification.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Compassion and empathy for patients facing physical challenges.
7. Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and transfers.
8. Attention to detail and ability to document patient progress accurately.
