Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients regain and improve their ability to perform daily living and work activities. Your role will involve assisting with assessments, developing treatment plans, implementing interventions, and documenting progress to facilitate rehabilitation and recovery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collaborate with occupational therapists to provide patient-centered care.
2. Assist in evaluating patients' physical, mental, and emotional capabilities.
3. Create and implement therapy plans based on patients' individual needs and goals.
4. Guide patients in completing therapeutic activities to improve their functional abilities.
5. Monitor and record patients' progress, adjusting treatments as needed.
6. Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to improve independence.
7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
8. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
9. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care plans.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
3. State licensure or eligible for licensure in the state of practice.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
6. Experience working with diverse patient populations is preferred.
7. Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
8. Ability to adapt to changing healthcare environments.
9. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
