Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitative services to patients with physical, emotional, or developmental impairments. Your role will involve assisting in the development and implementation of treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and documenting patient progress.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in evaluating patients' functional abilities and limitations.
2. Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists.
3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
4. Provide therapeutic activities and exercises to improve motor skills, strength, and coordination.
5. Educate patients and their families on techniques for managing daily activities.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
7. Monitor and report on patients' progress during therapy sessions.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
2. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
3. State licensure to practice as a COTA.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Proficiency in conducting therapeutic activities and exercises.
7. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
