Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitative services to patients with physical, mental, and emotional impairments. Your main goal will be to help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients
- Work with patients to improve their motor skills and coordination
- Help patients with activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, and eating
- Teach patients how to use specialized equipment to aid in their rehabilitation
- Monitor and document patients' progress during therapy sessions
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
- Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- State licensure as a COTA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Attention to detail and patience with patients
- Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and equipment
