Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary:
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works closely with physical therapists to help patients regain movement and manage pain through various exercises, therapies, and treatments. They assist in developing treatment plans, educating patients on exercises, and documenting progress.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients.
2. Conduct exercises and therapies as directed by the physical therapist.
3. Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment.
4. Educate patients on at-home exercises and self-care techniques.
5. Prepare equipment and treatment areas for therapy sessions.
6. Assist patients with mobility and transfers as needed.
7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy area.
8. Communicate with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals regarding patient progress.
9. Stay updated on latest trends and techniques in physical therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with exercises and therapies.
5. Attention to detail and ability to follow treatment plans accurately.
6. Compassion and patience when working with patients.
7. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
8. Ability to work well in a team setting.
