Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Job Summary:
As a Radiation Therapist, you will administer radiation treatments to cancer patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist. You will be responsible for operating radiation therapy equipment, monitoring patient reactions to treatment, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients during treatments.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Review and interpret prescriptions and treatment plans from radiation oncologists.
2. Position patients correctly for treatment and accurately target radiation beams.
3. Operate linear accelerators and other radiation therapy equipment.
4. Monitor patients during treatments and report any adverse reactions to the radiation oncologist.
5. Educate patients on the treatment process and potential side effects.
6. Maintain accurate treatment records and ensure patient confidentiality.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to cancer patients.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in radiation therapy or related field.
2. Certification in radiation therapy from an accredited program.
3. State licensure as a Radiation Therapist.
4. Strong attention to detail and precision in positioning patients for treatment.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
7. Compassion and empathy for cancer patients undergoing treatment.
