As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will be responsible for assisting physical therapists in the provision of rehabilitation services to patients. Your primary duties will include working with patients to help them regain mobility and function, implementing treatment plans prescribed by a physical therapist, monitoring progress, and attending to patient safety and comfort.
#Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist physical therapists in the preparation and implementation of treatment plans for patients
- Help patients perform therapeutic exercises and activities under the supervision of a physical therapist
- Monitor patient progress and report back to the physical therapist
- Attend to patient safety and comfort during treatment sessions
- Provide education to patients and their families on treatment procedures, home exercises, and equipment use
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatment progress
- Assist in patient scheduling and appointment management
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed to ensure optimal patient care
#Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate degree in physical therapy assisting or related field
- Current state licensure and certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to patient care
- Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and patient needs
