Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will be working under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide treatment to patients suffering from injuries or illnesses that limit their mobility. Your primary goal will be to assist the patient in achieving their maximum physical potential and to help them regain their independence. You will assist in implementing and developing appropriate patient care plans to enhance physical function and prevent physical disabilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assisting in patients' evaluations, and documenting and reporting results to the physical therapist
- Providing therapeutic exercises and treatments to patients as prescribed by the physical therapist
- Supervising and monitoring patients during therapeutic exercise sessions
- Educating the patient and family on exercise programs, proper body mechanics and safety measures to ensure proper rehabilitation
- Managing patient records and recording treatments in a timely and accurate manner
- Adhering to departmental policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality of patient information
- Participating in departmental continuous quality improvement activities
- Performing other related duties as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associates degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Licensed and registered as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Colorado
- CPR certification
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs
- Detail-oriented and organized
