Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team. As a PTA, you will provide direct patient care and work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans to help patients recover and improve their physical function.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct patient assessments and evaluations to identify physical therapy needs and goals.
2. Assist in developing customized treatment plans based on patient's condition, medical history, and goals.
3. Implement therapeutic exercises, techniques, and interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
4. Monitor and document patient progress throughout the treatment process.
5. Educate patients and their families on proper exercises, home care programs, and injury prevention techniques.
6. Utilize therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
8. Maintain accurate and organized patient records, documenting treatment plans, progress, and outcomes.
9. Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff by adhering to infection control protocols.
10. Assist in scheduling patient appointments and managing administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. Valid state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
3. CPR certification and knowledge of basic life support techniques.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
5. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
6. Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with mobility and perform therapeutic techniques.
7. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and exercise principles related to physical therapy.
8. Ability to follow treatment plans accurately and adjust interventions as necessary.
9. Basic computer skills for documentation and record keeping.
