Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team. As a COTA, you will assist in providing exceptional therapeutic services to individuals of all ages, helping them maximize their physical and mental capabilities in various occupational settings.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists (OTs) in designing and implementing treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Support patients in developing, maintaining, and improving their daily living and work skills.
- Conduct assessments to identify functional limitations and establish personalized therapy goals.
- Utilize therapeutic techniques, exercises, and equipment to help clients regain independence and achieve their goals.
- Assess clients' progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records, progress notes, and reports.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and exercises, providing guidance for continued progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, including physicians and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on current industry trends, treatment protocols, and evidence-based practice to ensure the delivery of quality care.
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients during therapy sessions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Empathy and patience in assisting patients with physical and emotional challenges.
- Knowledge of relevant medical terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in using therapy equipment and technology.
- Ability to adapt to changing therapy techniques and patient needs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
