Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic team. As an OT, you will be responsible for helping individuals of all ages enhance their ability to perform daily activities, regain independence, and improve their overall quality of life. By creating personalized treatment plans, conducting evaluations, and implementing therapeutic interventions, you will empower patients to overcome physical, mental, and emotional obstacles.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Perform initial assessments to evaluate clients' physical, psychological, sensory, and cognitive abilities.

2. Develop customized treatment plans based on assessment findings, setting realistic goals in collaboration with clients and their families.

3. Implement therapeutic interventions to enhance mobility, strength, coordination, and independence in activities of daily living.

4. Utilize adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and technologies to assist individuals in achieving maximal functional outcomes.

5. Provide guidance and education to clients and their families regarding injury prevention, self-care strategies, and home modifications.

6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and promote effective communication among healthcare professionals.

7. Regularly monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.

8. Coordinate and participate in discharge planning, providing recommendations for ongoing home-based therapy or community-based programs.

9. Stay up-to-date with the latest research, techniques, and advancements in occupational therapy by attending professional development opportunities.

10. Comply with all legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements in all aspects of patient care.

11. Advocate for individuals with disabilities and promote inclusivity, accessibility, and equal opportunities.

12. Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve overall patient care outcomes.

13. Maintain accurate and organized documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information.

14. Collaborate with insurers to obtain necessary approvals and ensure appropriate reimbursement.

15. Continuously assess and streamline therapy processes, identifying opportunities for quality improvement and enhanced efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

2. Successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam.

3. Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

4. Proven experience in assessing, planning, and implementing individualized treatment plans for clients across various age groups and diagnoses.

5. Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions.

6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.

7. Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in helping individuals overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

8. Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

9. Proficiency in using specialized occupational therapy equipment and technologies.

10. Familiarity with relevant documentation and billing systems.

11. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about current trends and research in occupational therapy.
