Job Title: Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Job Summary:
As a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to provide a wide range of speech therapy services to individuals of all ages who have communication and swallowing disorders. You will assist in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language disorders, as well as provide support to clients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Implementing treatment plans developed by the Speech Language Pathologist
2. Conducting therapy sessions with individuals or groups
3. Monitoring and tracking clients' progress
4. Assisting with screenings and evaluations
5. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals
6. Providing education and training to clients and their families
7. Maintaining accurate and detailed records of clients' treatment sessions and progress
8. Following ethical and legal guidelines in all aspects of your work
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program
2. Certification as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse communication needs
5. Knowledge of various speech and language disorders and treatment methods
6. Understanding of ethical and legal standards in the field of speech therapy
