Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitation services to patients with physical, mental, or developmental disabilities. You will assist in implementing treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and helping patients develop skills necessary for daily living and work activities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in evaluating patients' physical, mental, and emotional condition.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with licensed occupational therapists.
3. Conduct therapy sessions, including exercises, activities, and adaptive equipment.
4. Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
5. Assist patients in developing skills for daily living, such as dressing, eating, and bathing.
6. Educate patients and their families on techniques for improving functioning and independence.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
8. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical standards of practice.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
3. Valid state license to practice as a COTA.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Knowledge of common rehabilitation techniques and equipment.
7. Physical stamina and dexterity to work with patients of varying abilities.
8. Commitment to providing high-quality care and advocating for patients' needs.
