Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily tasks and activities. You will assist in carrying out treatment plans that are designed to improve patients' quality of life and independence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist occupational therapists in evaluating and treating patients to improve their physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being
- Implement therapeutic and functional activities to improve patients' strength, coordination, and mobility
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for performing daily tasks and activities
- Document patients' progress and communicate with occupational therapists about their treatment plans
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification as a COTA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team
- Physical stamina to assist patients with physical activities
- Compassion and empathy for patients with a variety of needs
