Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
A Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or other medical conditions that impact their movement and mobility. PTAs assist with exercises, stretches, massages, and other therapeutic techniques to improve patients' strength and range of motion.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans as prescribed by the physical therapist
- Monitor patients' progress and provide feedback to the physical therapist
- Instruct patients in proper techniques for exercises and activities
- Help patients with therapeutic exercises, stretches, and other interventions
- Assist with modalities such as heat, ice, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation
- Document patient progress and communicate with the physical therapist as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with exercises and activities
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
