Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant in a Long Term Care facility, you will work alongside licensed physical therapists to provide rehabilitation services to patients who require long-term care. Your primary goal will be to help patients regain strength, mobility, and independence through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other treatment modalities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients
- Support patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities
- Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises for continued progress
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each patient
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy area and equipment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Experience working in a Long Term Care setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of various physical therapy techniques and modalities
